San Francisco Days Artist Chris Isaak Album Title San Francisco Days Date of Release Apr 13, 1993 (approx.) inprint AMG Rating (Best-of-Artist) Genre Rock Styles Pop/Rock Time 41:30 Chris Isaak's records are eerily out of time; the production is too clean and sterile to sound as if it was recorded at Sun Studios (a sound he clearly admires), but his music doesn't fit neatly into the sounds of contemporary radio. Accordingly, his sound is original yet familiar, appealing both to fans of early-'60s rock & roll and a modern audience. At times, Isaak tries too hard to emulate his idols -- for instance, his strained Orbison-esque falsetto on "Two Hearts" -- but when he doesn't try too hard, the results are often startling. San Francisco Days is Isaak's most musically diverse album yet. -- Stephen Thomas Erlewine, All Music Guide CD Reprise 45116 1993 CD Reprise 45116-2 CS Reprise 45116-4 Chris Isaak - Guitar, Vocals Erik Jacobsen - Producer Mark Needham - Engineer --------------------------------------------- Release date: 04/13/1993 Original release date: 1993 Label: Reprise Producer: Erik Jacobsen Engineer: Mark Needham Guest Artists: Danny Gatton Studio Pieces in Set: 1 Catalog#: 45116 Distributor: WEA Desc: Performer -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Additional Notes: Personnel: Chris Isaak (vocals, guitar); James Calvin Wilsey, Danny Gatton (guitar); Tom Brumley (steel guitar); Jimmy Pugh (Hammond B-3 organ); Rowland Salley (bass, vocals); Kenney Dale Johnson (drums, vocals); Jim Keltner (drums); Johnny Reno, Prairie Prince, Frank Martin, Jeff Watson, Christine Wall, Cynthia Lloyd, Joni Haastrup, Ron Thompson, Kenny Aronoff, Rick Knoch, Mia Rose Antonelli, Poplar Haines. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
