Fire on the Mountain is the Charlie Daniels Band's finest moment. Daniels finds the perfect middle ground between southern-rock boogie and hillbilly honky tonk, creating a sound that rocked hard but still had down-home roots. Although he would delve deeper into country, he would never make a stronger, more enjoyable album
